I BECAME A CRIMINAL
When I had a baby I was frowned upon
When I needed food I borrowed money and became a criminal
When I couldn’t get my child support it was my fault
When I had a Tupperware party I became a criminal
When I had a yard sale I became a criminal
When I got a loan from the bank it was stolen on me
When I received a gift I became a criminal
When I had life insurance it was taken from me
When they lost my paper work they called me a liar
When I was sick they made me work anyway
When they asked me for things that I could not get, it was just to get rid of me
When they wanted stuff it was illegal for them to have, I knew
When they lied to me, I knew!
When my home caught fire they only wanted to know what I bought, they didn’t care that I was homeless
When my children didn’t get their student loans for college, their future was stolen
When others needed help I had to tell them to lie because they too had become criminals
When the collection agencies harassed constantly, we ignored them
When I talked to my friends they all had the same problems I did
When I became suicidal I needed anti depressants
When I went to school I was taking anti depressants, didn’t learn much
When my children were sick they didn’t care
When I was being abused I had no shelter to help me
When I was working forty hours a week I still had to look for another job
When I got fired from my job there was no help
When I called the agencies that were suppose to help, I was hung up on and they didn’t return my phone calls
When I became homeless they scoffed at me “Trash”
When I became ill from malnutrition “that couldn’t happen here?”
I got sick.
When asked for the truth I was ignored
When I told people they didn’t believe me
When I needed housing there wasn't any!
When I died no one knew why?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
